Matthew Donovan, Duke of Brunswick still grieves the loss of his parents and siblings who died nineteen years ago in a carriage accident. He has never properly dealt with the loss and still grieves after all this time. He is looking for a wife that won’t tempt to him to risk loving and losing again.
Sarah Townsbridge is the daughter of a viscount and has had six seasons with no suitor in sight. Her greatest wish in life is to help those in need and when her neighbor proposes to her out of the blue, she discovers he’s a wounded soul and she is determined to help him.
This may be a novella but it’s filled with tender and light hearted moments as the Duke courts Sarah to convince her to marry him, as she works to help him heal.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching their romance bloom, a charming historical romance.
