Series – Fetish Alley

Main Characters – Clay Mortimer, Tate Williams

A little disclaimer, I didn’t read the blurb I just read the title and thought this was going to be a paranormal, shifter book, with a bit if kink. It absolutely is not.

Clay and Tate are Invesitigation partners as well as intimate partners. They are asked to investigate the circumstances surrounding a murder. This story takes you into their intimate lives as well as their professional ones. One is a former soldier and the other a former cop, with PTSD, they both have scars they are working through, although none of that is resolved in this story.

This is the first book in the Fetish Alley series but it isn’t the first book about Tate and Clay. If you hadn’t read their book in the ‘Men of London’ series you may feel like you are missing part of their story.

This story felt like a slice of their day to day life. While most of it was spend on solving the mystery of how a man in a fur suit ended up dead in a place he feared, it has a lot of side arcs about other people in Tate and Clay’s life. While the mystery is solved the story, ends leaving me feeling like their story was unfinished.

The fetish component of the story didn’t really go into a lot of detail about the fetishes but seemed more interested in the shock value of certain fetishes. There’s plenty of hot steamy M/M sex between Clay and Tate but very little kink you’d expect with a series named Fetish Alley. It’s more about the people that live, work and run Fetish businesses on Fetish Alley.

Overall, this was just an okay read for me. I liked it but I was left feeling like it wasn’t finished.

I received an ARC copy through NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. That said I expect any editing issues will be resolved before publishing.
