Main characters – Noah Wolfe, Avery Johansson

Avery Johansson reinvented herself after leaving an abusive alcoholic mother and her trailer trash home. She’s a student and a sugar baby, allowing men to take care of her in exchange for her time but not her bed. She has a plan and she’s determined to complete her goals.

Noah Wolfe has been single ever since he caught his girl with his best friend. He runs a successful media business, and finds he has a beautiful neighbor that has him rethinking his single life.

Hot, gritty, steamy, no holds barred real. Relationships are complicated. Avery resists Noah, knowing he’s not part of her life plan and believing he won’t give her the control she desires in the bedroom.

Noah won’t give up on getting to know Avery and convince her to give him a chance. He prefers to be in control in the bedroom but is willing to give Avery what she needs.

These two spar not only verbally but in the bedroom and it may be uncomfortable for some readers. I thought it was handled well and really showed that Avery’s wants and needs couldn’t be bulldozed over, that she’d fight for herself.

I loved the give and take, these two face challenges and emotional baggage and yet they find a way to make it work for them. Their path wasn’t easy but I loved reading every moment.

One of my favorite moments:
You Might be less sugar than spice, and you might not always be nice, but you’re real, and I’m only interested in the real you. That’s all you ever need to be for me. Understand?’
