Main characters – Alyx Sullivan, Lizbeth Marie Adams (Murphy?)
Lizbeth Marie Adams (Murphy? )(my copy gave different last names) was an only child. Her mother came to America from Ireland after she found out the father of her baby was married. She’s gregarious, fun, and ray of sunshine that makes friends with everyone and she loves being a kindergarten teacher.
Alyx Sullivan grew up in a military family. He’s a former Marine, with some PTSD and works for his family’s security firm. He likes quiet and has no intention of engaging with his friendly, beautiful neighbor.
Alyx is the only one on her floor that resists Lizbeth’s friendly overtures, but she’s not giving up on her grumpy neighbor. Alyx may want her but continues to try and resist her and her cookies. She wears him down and a run in at the grocery store finally breaks the ice.
When Lizzy comes home worried, Alyx can’t help stepping in to keep her safe and they fall at lightning speed for each other. Bring on the heat and steam as these two were made for each other.
I really loved both of these characters and wished the author had given us more time to watch it build and savor the connection once made.
Schroeder delivers sweet, fun characters and cast with insta-love and a dash of suspense.
