Listened to audio narrated well by Amanda Leigh Cobb.

To save those she loves Feyre returns to the Spring Court, playing the role Tamlin has forced upon her, but she will turn the tables on him. High Lady Feyre is cunning and devious as she learns all she can about the King’s warplans, while undermining and exacting vengeance upon Tamlin and those that betrayed her people. When she finally makes her escape, Lucien insists she take him with her.

Upon her return Feyre reunites with her sisters, Elain who seems broken and lost and Nesta who seems to be perpetually in bitch mode. But each of these sisters grow and become more than they were and will throw you a curve ball or two as we start to fully understand how the caudlron changed them. I loved that they both have mates even if they are both in denial about it.

I love how the Night Court rallies together, a family of their own making, searching far and wide to find a way to defeat the king, the cauldron and his allies. This story is full of love, intrigue, pollitics, war, loss and healing.

Now the not so good, the author uses Hybern a lot, but it doesn’t always mean the same thing and that was confusing especial as an audio listener. I had to back up the recording a few times to figure out if she meant the King, his people or if it was a place. The author seems to change her mind about who’s a villain for too many characters to make it feel authentic. There’s also the very odd introduction of one of the characters being bisexual that comes out of left field, attempting to explain their past behavior. I hated the characterization and portrayal and felt it didn’t enhance the story at all. Lastly, there’s a lot of repetition I wish had been edited out. In saying all that I still liked it.
