Connor’s Baby by Annie J. Rose

Rating 3.5 of 5 stars

Heat 5 of 5 stars

Series – SEAL Daddies

Main characters – Connor O’Shea, Brandi Jackson

“Connor O’Shea served as a SEAL for twenty years. Two years later he still suffers PTSD and had to get out of Chicago for the quieter slower pace of St. Martin. He owns and operates an authentic Irish Pub, modeled after his grandfather’s pub in Chicago. Over the past two years his four brothers have joined him on the island helping him while setting up their own businesses. Unable to sleep and suffering from nightmares, he feels unworthy to be in a relationship.

Brandi Jackson lost her mother at sixteen, she grew up in poverty and dreams of helping and teaching inner-city public-school children. Even after losing her boyfriend her senior college year, she pulled herself together to finish her degree.

Brandi and her best friend celebrate her graduation with a two-week trip to St. Martin. Two years after losing Nick she’s finally opening herself up again, encouraged by her best friend to have an island fling.

I loved that Brandi and Jess where each other’s cheerleader and support system. It was some of the best parts of the story.

When Connor sees the pretty blond in his pub his world lights up but he’s determined not to get involved, but can’t seem to help himself around her.

These two can’t seem to keep their minds or hands off each other in between Connor repeatedly trying to push Brandi away. But when they do come together or they are fantasizing about each other things get hot.

A lusty island story with a SEAL with PTSD and a soon to be teacher gun-shy about connecting with another person that might leave her.

There are quite a few editing problems in my copy (this may have been fixed) and I was surprised that given the title and series the baby portion of the story didn’t show up until very late in the book. There’s a lot of lust going on but not enough development of the emotional ties to believe in their love. Interesting characters but I needed more.
