Series – Blood of Eith

Main characters – Everen Hanali, Gyda, Abraxas Kain, Arke, Solri Amet, Sorin Trinity, Sahar Al-Fasil, Keres, Nerezza Quill, Viggo

Evren Hanali is a human/elf hunter and leader of the Wandering Sols. She shares the heart of her partner Gyda.

Gyda is descended from Giants and is a lethal fighter, with a rune sword, which increases her ability to fight almost anything.

Abraxas Kain was once the Champion of Haphion, the God of Light. His devotion to the Divines and guilt for his actions is his driving force. His struggle to right the wrongs of the past will take him down a twisty road.

Arke is a powerful goblin mage but there’s more to him than meets the eye. More than a few of his secrets are revealed and hints of more to come.

Solri Amet is a dwarven fighter, ex-diplomat, with engineering skills. She has many tricks up her sleeves to help the Wandering Sols out of bad situations.

Sorin is a human from Vasa, who draws most of his magic with the sea and Sarah seeks to follow in her mother’s adventuring footsteps.

Nerezza Quill is a lost daughter of Serevadia, who was stolen as a child and brought to the surface. She’s a blood mage and a necromancer, seeking even more power. Her people have been living underground since the Shadow Dancer brought them there. She’s determined to bring them into the light on the surface, whether they want to or not.

Keres, is an ancient Vernesian death spirit, who inhabits the dead until he can retrieve what Nerezza stole from them.

Viggo is a Serevadian trying to stop the war and save his people. His past decisions ruined any future he might have had with Evren

Grant gives us two stories: Abraxas and Nerezza’s story as they navigate the past, fight bloody battles and lay plans for the future they desire and the Wandering Sols grieving and trying to save Eith from the attacking Serevadians. We go back and forth until they meet again in the present which has turned very dark.

When Serevadian attacks Eith, the Wandering Sols will do all they can to save their world. While Abraxas and Nerezza are thrown back in time 100 years during the Vernes war. Nerezza enslaves Abraxas to do her bidding while seeking that which will give her the power to restore Serevadia. Abraxaus is not only tortured by Nerezza but facing his past and the rebels he fought so hard against.

These two sets of journeys with our adventurers have them dealing with loss, guilt, second chances, love and madness. Secrets and revelations abound as yet another layer of each of these characters is revealed, along with more than a few twists and turns. As epic as it feels the big finish isn’t quite finished and will leave you wanting the next book to find out how many more surprises the author has up her sleeve. In saying that, the story flow is sometimes clunky feeling and more than a few scenes come across as being part of a role-playing game fight scene, but there’s still a lot to grab and hold a reader’s attention.
