She’s determined to leave it behind her but she never truly healed.

Lawson Salder is four years older than Berkley. He grew up in the same dangerous town as Berkley but he was dealing with parents who were drug addicts and dealers. Refusing to join the family business He left town to get away from it all as well. He found success in construction and helping restore homes after natural disasters.

These two both found their place in Cemetery, Nebraska but neither wanted to revisit their past. Lawson remembered the quiet girl from his past but wasn’t in a place back then to pursue her. Berkley remembered the handsome Lawson, but is afraid her past will ruin her future in Cemetery.
Lark Penny is a vibrant, outgoing new-comer to Cemetery. She’s determined to meet everyone and make friends.

Oliver Roth was a physical therapist. Trouble at home made him want to re-prioritize his life and start fresh. He’s opening up his own Fitness Center in Cemetery. He just has to get past the matriarch of the town.

He had no plans to get involved with anyone but he finds he can’t resist Lark’s charm.
While the main love story was all about Lawson, Berkley and her beloved animals. Foster delivers a sweet bonus romance with Oliver and Lark. Prepare for hometown feels, healing, sweet romance and animals that find their own love.

Julen aka Master Morton is a dedicated rope top, with years of experience.

Master Peter is a demanding sadist, who fell in love with his sub and lost her.

Diann is a hardcore masochist who enjoys degradation kink. Peter used to be her master until he fell in love with her, but she didn’t feel the same way.

Delaney ‘Laney’ is a service submissive. She tries to be perfect but finds herself often overlooked or ignored.

Joni comes to the club to let go of the reigns of control. She knows her needs and isn’t afraid to advocate for them.

When the Doms first get together, their quick plan to split the letter S ends with three unhappily aborted scenes. They must regroup, and re-evaluate before starting again with their three submissives.

Dubois delivers another great addition to the checklist series. Addressing the real-life complexities of BDSM world and relationships, while delivering sizzling heat.

Dante Gabriel is a born vampire, kidnapped at 18, used as a blood slave, held hostage and tortured for ten years. He escapes, but finds recovery not as easy as he hoped and an attraction he can’t control.

Erin Hamilton is an ER nurse, with a NOPD cop as a brother. She’s lived in NOLA for three years. The strange pull and desire to protect a complete stranger has her making choices she would never make otherwise.

Dante was bled for ten years by a female vamp who demanded to be called Queen. His escape finds him in a hospital blood bank and caught by the beautiful, enticing nurse Erin. All he wants is her but he’s equally determined to protect her from himself and the nightmares that plague him.

Erin should have reported Dante after finding him bloodied in the hospital blood bank but instead protected him. She’s not sure why but she’s drawn to him and can’t get him out of her mind.

This story contains parts 1-3 of the Blood Bound Saga. There’s a lot of push me, pull you as Dante keeps being drawn to Erin but then runs away, afraid of hurting or scaring her. Hardt gives us pieces of his captivity, pieces of vampire lore and the teasers that the Queen is not done with him yet, but ends with nothing really completed.

I’ve mixed feelings about this volume as there wasn’t a lot of story progression and lots of unanswered questions at the end. There were a few editing problems as well, leaving me partially liking the story but not loving it. I’m hoping future installments resolve these issues.

Jedidiah ‘Diah’ Stephens grew up on the run. After her guardian dies, she is determined to find answers in hopes of finally feeling safe again. She’s a jack-of-all-trades, determined to secure a job at the campgrounds that might give her the answers she’s looking for, along with her adopted Lab, Tuff. She has a lot of fears and insecurities but doesn’t let them stop her from her mission.

Memphis Osborn a tech expert who bought a rundown campground with a mission in mind, but things take a sideways curve when Diah arrives and demands he give her a job.

These two are both keeping secrets about their past and their true motives for being at the campground even as their slow burn attraction draws them together. Memphis knows she’s up to something, he wants to help. As his attraction and admiration grow, he hopes to convince her to stay, while she keeps one foot ready to go out the door.

While there are great characters and cameos from characters from previous books, the story and the relationship move very slowly. I love Lori Foster and usually get comfy and prepare for a sweet, comfy, gooey, suspense but I struggled with this one. It had a great opening scene when they first met but then the story fizzled out for me and it was difficult to stay in the story. I had a hard time connecting to these characters and their relationship. The story didn’t really pick up again until Remmy and other characters came on the scene, then everything felt rushed to finish.

I definitely had mixed feelings on this installment in the series but I hope Remmy will be next in the series.

Mitch Cosgrove is a former cop, who handles security-related jobs in between planning Kink events. He carries a heavy burden that only the right Mistress can alleviate, with Primal Play or a Sadist’s kiss.

Mitch met the troubled, angry, young Cyn ten years ago. He helped her escape the streets and neither of them forgot each other. When they run into each other after ten years, their connection reignites (and explodes), bringing together two battered souls who were made for each other.

Sometimes I’m afraid where my author is going to take me, even knowing she’ll carry me to the other side, no matter how crazy it gets. Hill delivers another amazing story, that will take you from some extreme BDSM scenes to exploring the depths of the soul, that had me crying more than once, as well as laughing out loud. I may have cursed her a few times for the roller coaster ride but it’s her amazing talent that has me dropping everything to read her next story.
